Sometimes the best Mendoza afternoon has nothing to do with wine. A 45-minute drive up a mountain road brings you to Potrerillos, where the Andes valley spreads out in every direction. Then down to Cacheuta — a thermal resort fed by natural mineral springs — where you spend the afternoon between the outdoor pools and a cedar sauna, the mountains reflected in the water. Artisan beer and a picada board of cheeses, cured meats, and bread waiting when you're done.
